Chris Eklund is a Swedish guitar player and composer who is currently living in Los Angeles. Chris came to Los Angeles to study music at Musicians Institute, he was accepted with several scholarships with the motivation: ’’ The Swedish native earned the prestigious awards with a strong demonstration of his rock and (overall) versatile musical skills.’’

Chris graduated from Musicians Institute with honors in 2016 and received the ’’Outstanding Player’’ Award.

* After graduating from Musicians Institute in 2016, Chris has been performing with various artists and he has also been touring around the U.S.

Chris is the former lead guitar player of the band Sifting. Sifting is an alternative metal band based in L.A that is currently touring across the U.S and also playing at venues around Los Angeles such as The Viper Room and Whiskey A-GoGo. Sifting recorded their latest album with producer Ryan Williams, famous for working with Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Rage Against The Machine, 30 Seconds To Mars, Slayer, Velvet Revolver, Deftones, PINK, among others. Sifting released an EP in fall 2015 which was produced by Steve Evetts, famous for working with Symphony X, Suicide Silence, Hatebreed, Lifetime, Kid Dynamite, among others.

* Before coming to Los Angeles, Chris performed at weddings, private parties and corporate events. He also started the band Projectu, a progressive rock band from Norrköping, Sweden. Projectu opened up for The Quireboys in 2013 and was also selected to perform at Swedens biggest festival Bråvalla festival in Chris hometown Norrköping in 2013.
Projectu also performed in Swedens Battle Of The Bands called Livekarusellen. While performing in Livekarusellen, Chris got the ''Best Instrumentalist'' award in 2013.
